DNS Lookup

Domain Name Service. An Internet service that translates domain names into IP addresses. While the domain names are easier to remember the Internet is based on IP addresses and the domain names needed to be converted. If you enter the domain name of www.NETWorks.com a DNS will translate it to a IP address like 192.168.1.1. If the DNS does not recognize the domain it will ask another DNS and so on.
